I took a look into the hives yesterday and, as the title says, there wasn't any significant change from the previous inspection three weeks ago. I didn't see either queen. There was brood on only a couple of frames. The population in the new hive seemed maybe a bit bigger. In the old hive, there is nectar in the previously empty cells, pictured in the last post.
There were also about a dozen capped drone cells at the bottom of one frame in the old hive.
No wax has been drawn in either of the top boxes.
I removed the now empty feeder from the new hive figuring there should be enough forage now.
Today I attended a talk on managing top bar hives and picked up a few tips.
